We hope that you'll join us on Thursday, November 7th as we learn "How to Dress with Style: Looking Your Best & Incorporating Trends". Nadia Karpov, personal stylist, will be making the presentation. The program will begin after our business meeting at 7pm.

Members of the December hospitality committee will meet at the conclusion of our November meeting. They include: Co-chairs- Kathy Fallow & Joanne King; Committee Members- Susan Mullane, Jan Bauer, Carol Ziegenfuss, Joyce Paulinho, Heather Ring, Joan Przasnyski, Inge Foster and Kate Anthony.


100 years ago, our members played a role in obtaining the right to vote for women. Exercise your right on Tuesday, November 5th at your local polling place. Many county and local offices and boards are on the ballot. Plus, check out the county's new voting process! Need more information on the candidates? This year's project will be unveiled at the November meeting. Join Vinita Horinko and fellow Concourse Club members at the Palmerton Library Gallery on Tuesday, November 19th at 6:30pm. The project is distributed to Palmerton's Meals on Wheels clients in December.


Tree Decorating: Join the crew to decorate our tree in the park on Monday, December 2nd at 1pm, with a raindate of Tuesday, December 3rd at the same time. Meet at the Bandstand in the park to help out.

Park Celebration: Christmas in the Park will be held on Saturday, December 7th, with a raindate of Sunday, December 8th. This year, the Holiday Lighting Committee is having a People's Choice Award for the best tree. Stop by their booth during the event and vote for our tree!

Bake Sale: We've become well-known for our bake sale variety and quality at Christmas in the Park! Please help us continue this tradition with your donation of your baked goods. Organized by Mary Smida, members of the club man the tent throughout the day. Come and join us- it's a festive time!

The club continues to accept nominations for an Honorary Membership. Due to a scheduling issue, the vote was moved to the November Advisory Board meeting. Instructions for nominations are in the club booklet distributed at the start of each club year (see pp. 14-15).  


The club's Advisory Board will meet on Monday, November 25th at 7pm at the Palmerton Area Library. 


...for our annual collection for the Domestic Violence Service Center. Each year at our December meeting, the club collects items to donate the local center. Their wish list includes: socks, underwear (all sizes infant to adult), diapers (especially sizes 3 & 4), pull up diapers, baby wipes, sippy cups, powdered formula, family size toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, tampons, sanitary pads, combs, hair brushes, blow dryers, laundry detergent, softener, dryer sheets, first aid kits, ace bandages, ice packs, anti-bacterial ointment, wound care cream or spray, alarm clocks, umbrellas, crib sheets, twin bed sheets, pillow cases, pillows, coloring books, crayons, school supplies, construction paper, children’s puzzles, dollar store toys, baby monitors, prepaid phone cards, gift certificates to supermarkets, K-Mart, Wal-Mart or Target. Please donate only new items. Also, cell phones or related accessories are no longer collected. If you are unable to make it to our December meeting, you may drop off donations at Marge Porambo’s home.

The club continues to collect Boxtops, which we contribute to the Palmerton Area Junior High to fund field trips for students who have financial difficulty and would otherwise not attend. Please give your boxtops to Lisa Snell Kern.

Also collected are travel-size toiletries which may be given to Joan Turko. During the Christmas holidays, they are attractively packaged and given to recipients of the food bank.
